Simona participated in an IZOD IndyCar Series test on December 8 & 9, 2009 at Sebring International Raceway, a joint effort between HVM Racing & Team Stargate Worlds. She is currently competing full–time in the IZOD IndyCar Series for HVM Racing in the 2010 season.
 
On May 22, 2010 she qualified in 22nd Position for the 94th Indianapolis 500. She finished the race in 14th place, and earned Chase Rookie of the Year honors.  She suffered a burned right hand after a fiery crash at the Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway this past Saturday night on June 5. HVM Racing strongly criticized IZOD IndyCar Series safety officials for their response to that accident.

Conor Daly
 
Starting from the outside of the front row on the .626-mile O'Reilly Raceway Park oval in the Night Before the 500 race, Conor Daly jumped into the lead on Lap 1 and led the entire race by a substantial margin to score his third Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear victory in a row driving the #22 Juncos Racing / INDECK /The College Network / Merchant Services Ltd. / Tom Lange Co. Mazda.  His race was a picture perfect demonstration of a rising open-wheel star hitting his stride, never putting a wheel wrong, and bringing the crowd charging into Victory Lane as he completed his final lap.
 
This win was Conor's 3rd in a row in the Star Mazda Series. Where is his career heading?
